About me
Hello! I am Elisabeth, a web developer from Lower Austria focusing on digital accessibility – and the person behind WEBinklusiv.
My first contact with digital accessibility
In 2009 I sat in a two-day course on accessible web design. What began as a glimpse quickly turned into a passion. Since then I have kept working on how websites become accessible to everyone.
Education & career
After technical college for media technology my path led through several agencies and on into research. Alongside that career I completed the degree programmes Mobile Computing (Bachelor) and Interactive Media (Master) at FH Hagenberg. In between I lived and worked abroad for several months – to look beyond my own horizon. On the Game Studies programme at Danube University Krems I learned to design the passing on of knowledge playfully – „gamified": a perspective that still helps me rethink how people are guided through an interface.
What I like most is developing websites, thinking concepts through and helping shape them – to my mind technology, design and usability belong together. Good digital solutions come about where everything meshes and nobody is shut out.
My vision
An inclusive web that works for everyone. And a way of working together that is sustainable and honest. That is why I like working with people and organisations who share those values.

Certified web accessibility expert
I am a Certified Web Accessibility Expert (External link, opens in a new window) listed with incite, the certification body of the Austrian Economic Chamber.
Certified Web Accessibility Experts know the guidelines and techniques of accessible web design and are able to advise on web projects with regard to accessibility and to implement them taking usability and usable accessibility into account.
How I work
I say so when there is nothing to do. Not every website needs a complete redesign or a large accessibility audit – sometimes small things achieve a great deal.
My digital accessibility audits come with recommendations and solutions. I am not only an auditor: most good accessible solutions I have built myself, and I want to pass that knowledge on.
Transparency matters. When I am the one buying, I want to know what it costs and how long it takes. I state my prices up front and work out the schedule together with my clients.
Technology is not the goal. I like it when concept, design and implementation mesh. Good digital solutions come about where that fits together – and nobody is shut out.
