Workshops

Accessibility happens where the work happens. That is why my workshops are cut to fit your own craft.

Workshops by craft

You design

How does a design become accessible? Contrast and how to calculate it, legible typefaces and sizes, focus states as part of the design rather than an afterthought, target sizes, and when colour on its own is not enough. Plus how to hand over to development so the accessibility does not get lost along the way.

You work with content

For everyone who enters text, sends newsletters or looks after social media. We look at what makes a good image description, why heading levels are not formatting, what link text should look like, what captions have to achieve – and how to write in plain language without becoming bland.

You develop

Semantic HTML as the foundation, ARIA only where no element does the job. Keyboard operation and focus management, forms with usable error handling, and how to build custom components that work with screen readers. We work on your components, not textbook examples.

You work on strategy

How accessibility gets into tenders, offers and acceptance. Which requirements a team actually needs, how to phrase them so they can be verified, how to estimate the effort realistically – and what happens once the project ends and operation begins.

What you get

  • 2.5 hours of practical knowledge on digital accessibility, out of more than 15 years of work
  • A certificate of attendance
  • Tools you can use the next day

What you know after the workshop

  • Why digital accessibility is good for everyone
  • Which legal requirements apply in Austria
  • How to design and develop with fewer barriers

  • How to test a website for accessibility
  • For designers: what accessibility means for user journeys and visual design
  • For developers: HTML structures and ARIA labels

Prior knowledge

None needed. Anyone already familiar with the four principles gets going faster – but we start where the group is.

Nothing quite fitting?

I also put workshops together to your requirements – for instance when design and editorial should sit at the same table.
